Postdoctoral Position in Political Science (Salary Scale 13 TV-L/100 %) available as part of a project studying the political impacts of modern information technology. The project is funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Sofja Kovalevskaja Award). The research group works at the intersection of political science and computer science. The working language is English. In principle, this position can be divided into two half-time positions.
The start date is 1 October 2014 or by agreement. The position is available initially for one year, with the possibility of a two-year extension.
We are looking for candidates with a strong research background in political science and a solid training in quantitative and computational methods. The position involves some teaching (4 hours/week), starting in the spring term 2015.
Required qualifications include a doctoral degree in Political Science and a publication record in the area the group works in. Skills in statistical software (preferably, in R) are required. Experience with database technology is a plus.
